Change is in the air!

I like things of old. Traditional food, songs of the 60s and 70s and someone even called me a granny 'cos I knit. Whatever, LOL! Despite this, new is good too. Newness brings hope and sometimes a wariness that keeps me from being complacent in my comfort zone.
I'm rambling.
Point is, I've decided to make some changes

These shoppes will sell stuff that we craft when inspiration strikes. I don't think I'll go Etsy or Artfire type as yet to sell these. I'll still take customization requests so please email me :-)
Lastly, I want to thank you for dropping by, my customers and other supporters. Couldn't have made it this far without you.
Have a wonderful year ahead! May your resolutions be fulfilled and your days be showered with blessing.

Blessed Christmas!

Christmas 2011

My Christmas present arrived early and I couldn’t wait and opened it up and made these two! Do you like them? DS and DD have claimed these already though.

I’d cut the covers and inside pages of blue and white paper some time back but parked them aside. T’was fun punching the holes and inserting the O-wires. I think we’ll be having lots more fun with my new toy from now :-).

May your Christmas be filled with family, friends, fun and food. Also, remember,

Jesus is the reason for this season.

God bless!

ps: Do you like Fat Free or normal? I like mine with marshmallows, fat free or not…LOL!

Waiting patiently

I need to wait for DS and DD this afternoon. They'll be attending TeenXcite and then we'll be attending the next service 'cos we'll be witnessing a friend's baptism. I could go to the library to read since I've not had much time to read recently but I packed this box of stuff to sew just in case the sewing itch starts. I pack such boxes to the pool sometimes. Nothing quite so relaxing as sewing blind stitches and finishing off an item.
The items in today's box are meant for Tobias' Shoppe. I also included the plastic packaging and tag besides the needle, thread (bobbin) and thread cutter, buried beneath all these.
Aside, DD cooked lunch for us all by herself today :-)
Have a blessed day!

Call to Me

tissue zipper (15Dec2011)It’s been a while since I made tissue zipper pouches, basically the normal zipper pouches with a tissue holder at the side. It’s been even longer since I’ve had a request to applique scripture verses.

I’m wondering whether to print more verses. In Proverbs 7 we are told to keep His words and store up His commands within us.

So…

“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”                     ~ Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV)

May you be blessed with this today!

Have a blessed day!

Double happiness

tissue case (14Dec2011)

I found these 2 fabrics in my fabric treasury recently. I know there is at least one more Christmas-themed fabric somewhere. Maybe I’ll find it next year…LOL!

These are fully reversible tissue cases. My previous ones were as well, but normally I let the outside fabric overhang so you don’t see the lining peeking out like for these two.

Which side do you prefer?

Have a blessed Christmas!

Update: found another two red and green fabrics, from the Wrap It Up! collection :-)

tissue case (14Dec2011a)

These two were made from super combed cotton grown in US. Somehow they remind me of kimonos rather than snowflakes.

What do you think?

Announcing…

Tobias' Shoppe

DS and DD are setting up their own blogshop.

I think it’s a good learning opportunity for them since they’re doing most of the work, ie. setting up the shop, pricing, policies, shipping, packing, descriptions, marketing, photos (though I helped this round) etc. My part is just to supply the products to sell and give advice, if they ask.

As an encouragement, they’re splitting the revenue. They’ll have to tithe and pay for shipping and other incidentals but they’re welcome to use what’s available at home.

Would you encourage and show them your support, too, by signing up for the newsletter, helping to share this or buying something… LOL?

Thanks in advance!

Have a blessed day :-)

Last Christmas

zipper pouch (6Dec2011)Top requested item last Christmas was the triangular pencil case. The toblerone-shaped one that I had so much fun making :-).

This year, it’s zippered pouches.

These are 5” zippered pouches that are fully lined and interfaced. Cotton and linen fabrics for this batch are from Korea. The ‘stray’ thread you see is just my paper tag, not unfinished work, LOL!

Have a blessed sunny afternoon!

Rainy day at the pool

zipper pouch (3Dec2011)Today’s DD’s 2nd last swimming lesson this year. Though each lesson is only an hour, I’m there early and leave later ‘cos DD goes to play with her cousin and friends.

While I wait, sometimes I read. Today I packed some zipper pouches that needed hand-sewing to close up the seams. Brought along some pretty cardstock and paper too, to make into notebooks for the coming Christmas sale :-).

Have a blessed evening!

ps: when I first started making these 5” zipper pouches, I thought it would be useful for money and cards. However, since there’s 4oz interfacing, it’s also good as a pouch for digital cameras :-). Just need to add a mini pocket for that extra battery or SD card….LOL!

Appeal for ring tabs

ring tabs appeal (1Dec2011)

We’ve been collecting such for years now. Sometimes family and friends pass us by the bags full. Whether from canned drinks or even milk powder tins.

These are passed to my Thai friend who either brings them back when she goes to Thailand or passes them on to anyone going that way.

What are these for?

These are eventually melted down and made into artificial limbs for those who are otherwise unable to afford them.

It’s zero cost to collect, zero cost to get it to Thailand. Would you like to help?

Have a blessed day!
