For light or heavy days

I've been toying with this for a while already, wondering how best to make it practical yet discreet yet cute yet secure yet neat yet minimalistic. I'm a big fan of minalistic actually, liking simple clean lines, but I digress.
So I came up with this prototype. I put 1 unopened pack of tissue on each side of the 2 pockets and there's still room for another.
I think I add flaps to cover the pockets for added security. Contents shouldn't drop out, ya? And perhaps something to keep the two sides closed. If I can find soft-touch velcro, maybe I'll use that.
What do you think?
Have a blessed day!

Thankfulness

Extracted from parentingbydesign.com

Deut. 6:10-12: When the Lord your God brings you into... a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant-then when you eat and are satisfied, be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery (NIV).

It is so easy to take credit for the good things we acquire. But, we must not forget (or let our children forget) that all of our material possessions are blessings that God, in His grace, allowed us to have. And, the best things we have accumulated here on earth are nothing compared to the riches we will inherit as heirs of the Kingdom of God!

Despite what our culture may tell us, we have not earned our material blessings. There are others in less fortunate parts of the world who are far more deserving, but God did not choose to bless them as abundantly. Others have worked harder for less, yet still humbly accept the blessings God gives them as more than they deserve.

Humble yourself and thank God for the blessings He gives you.

Meet Daffy

Daffy joined us about a few weeks before and has brought much joy to us. She has filled our travel times with much entertainment and also ensured that His Word is with us wherever we go. She wakes us up in the morning and lets us know whenever someone's looking for us. Daffy doesn't complain when she does so much and only needs rejuvenation every few days. Strong, relentless yet lovable Daffy :-)
ps: no iphone for me. I'll take a Brother NV900 over that any day.... :-)

Doggy love

I like dogs. Used to have them - strays, pug, lhasa apsos, alsatian. No dogs now but I still like them. I like their happy tails (or rolled up ones like pugs'), I like their ability to sense your mood and comfort you, I like their hyperactivity and their sleepiness, I like them snuggling up to you, short-haired or long.
Three tissue cases and three kisslock coin purses. I flipped one of the tissue case inside out and DD says it looks ok too, what do you think? Making these made me think of chocolate milk. BTW, Shop and Save has a discount on Meiji's cocoa milk this month :-)
Have a blessed day!

What's happening?

It's been quite eventful for us the past few weeks, with a few upheavals on the personal front along with health issues. DS, DD and myself had bouts of fever and pains. Those are my excuses for not churning out your orders timely. Thank you for your patience and support!

Mama's Gonna Buy You a Mockingbird

Hush, little baby, don't say a word,
Mama's gonna buy you a mockingbird.

If that mockingbird don't sing,
Mama's gonna buy you a diamond ring.

If that diamond ring turns to brass,
Mama's gonna buy you a looking glass.

If that looking glass gets broke,
Mama's gonna buy you a billy-goat.

If that billy-goat won't pull,
Mama's gonna buy you a cart and bull.

If that cart and bull turns over,
Mama's gonna buy you a dog named Rover.

If that dog named Rover won't bark,
Mama's gonna buy you a horse and cart.

If that horse and cart falls down,
You'll still be the sweetest little baby in town.
Diaper bag with 6 huge pockets inside for bottles, clothes, diapers, toys and all the little things that you'll need to tote around when out with baby.
When DS and DD were younger, I didn't bother with changing mats and wet bags that are the norm. I didn't even bother with bottles (can you gues why? *grin*). Just went with a change of clothes, diaper, umbrella. We traveled light :-)
Have a blessed day!

Why Obey God?

Extracted from parentingbydesign.com

Eph. 6:5-6: Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart (NIV).

Have you ever seen a child who is forced to apologize or say "thank you"? Their rigid posture and monotone voice betrays their real intent. Sometimes our obedience to God takes on a similar tone. It helps to ask ourselves, "Why do I serve the Lord?" Is it to gain His favor, earn His blessings, impress others with our "godliness", or avoid His wrath? Or is it because He commands me to do it?

As we are bombarded with the demands of life on earth, we often lose sight of the eternal perspective. Start your day by recognizing who He is and what He has done. This will help you obey Him not from a robotic sense of duty, but from the overflow of thankfulness that is in your heart. After all, He has already given you the greatest gift of all: Jesus Christ. This gift was given to you long before you were able to serve Him in any way.

Obey God because you love Him above all things.

Ohana means Family

Ohana means Family and Family means no one gets left behind.
This phrase stuck ever since the Stitch movie eons ago. Pretty meaningful, don't you think? I like the movie, not so much the spinoff cartoon series with the different experiments. I like Experiment 626 the most :-)
Another reversible doggy bed. This time made from Disney copyrighted Stitch Japanese oxford cotton on one side and Japan imported doggy print on the other.
Have a blessed day!
ps: I wonder who has bigger ears - Stitch or Toby? :-)
