Sneak: book blocks to be

I've been cutting and folding papers recently. I still have lots of papers, plain and printed. Will have lots of opportunities to try out new stitch types.

And the good thing is...while I was looking for more paper, I found 1 whole stack of textured cardstock with white core. Ooo, I'm distracted. Am going to make mini notebooks soon and bundle them up with ribbon! Fun!

Sneak: customizable pendants

These glass domes and bronze bezels arrived while I was peeling the potatoes for lunch. DD took over preparing lunch and I had some fun cutting out circles from an old magazine, flyer and stuff. They're just over an inch wide so I think they won't be too big for a shepherd's hook bookmark or even a bag charm. Easiest way, of course, would be on a long chain.
DD's favourite is the one with the green heart. That's The Glimpse by Claire Merle. I think I like the chinese title most though John Maxwell's 360 Leader is very striking too.
Maybe I'll go find some really old photos of DS and DD and cut them out for my own bag charm pendants :-)

One man's litter

After so many jump rings, it's time I take a break and pick up something that I left accumulating. I parked this project one side after realising that I didn't have enough wrappers to cut and fold. After gorging ourselves silly with lots of snacks and with contributions from friends and family, there's this huge pile.
Can you recognize any of them?
I've washed them and laid them out to dry under the hot, hot sun.
Won't be free to cut them to the right size tomorrow so maybe another update on Wednesday.

Have a blessed day!

I need a new wire cutter

I wanted to make jump rings. Curled them round my knitting needle and all ready to be cut when I discovered that my wire cutter is blunt at the tip. Now I have 2 springs waiting for me to cut into jump rings. In the meantime, since I could still cut with the wire cutter, I made these. Notice that I took the easy way out and didn't centre the loops. Deliberately. Excuses on a hot, hot afternoon.

Strips of joy

I don't usually buy jelly rolls, those 2.5" or 6cm wide strips of coordinating fabric, but I chanced upon this one and the colours are so pretty. I wouldn't have thought that yellow, pinks, green and browns would come together like this but they did. I made a tote which I passed to my mum and a pouch. Am keeping this pouch for now till I make another so this one will go to mum 'cos it matches her bag.

I'm planning a quilt. I'm winging it as I go anyway. Was contemplating doing a log cabin 'cos the fabric's already in strips but thought I'd try something different and I'm so liking the result though DD will probably claim it :-)

Have a blessed day!

ps: I got this at a bargain at Spotlight. Grab it now while stocks last. There are 50 strips in 6 designs. Each set of 6 can make at least 4 squares so you'll end up with at least 32 for the jelly roll. A baby quilt probably need 4 squares by 5 and the rest can be used for the backing. I'm thinking 6 x 7 squares for adult size so hmmm, are there anymore at Spotlight?
