Dizzying stripes

Two denim totes for DD and me. DS doesn't like stripes.
These are large enough to put A4 files in and with the many pockets (2 large ones in front, 2 large ones back, panel inside), we can carry many stuff around. DD prefer to carry hers without the detachable strap. I prefer mine attached 'cos sometimes I use the over the shoulder straps, sometimes I use the longer one.
I think I'll make more of these if I can find the right thick fabric - canvas or denim. I wonder if oxford will work as well?
Some other design considerations:
flap covers for the outside pockets with the snaps on the flaps
swivel hook on the inside to snap on key rings
zipper pocket
shorter handles for handcarry
zipper closure for main body

I only quilt in straight lines

I seem to be quilting more these days. These are thinner than honey bun strips. I cut the jelly roll ones that I had and just started sewing them together. DD asked me what I was going to make and I didn't think of anything in particular and therein lies the problem. How long should these strips be? If I were making a book cover, it'd be one of the standards sizes ... A5, A6 etc. Or a pouch would be limited by the zip length, or perhaps not. Card cases would depend on the size of cards. You get the idea.
I just pieced them and quilted.
Then I found the key organizer. The metal thingy with the 6 loops for attaching keys?
Key pouch it was then. I wanted to add a bit of colour so that's why there's a coin pouch. It's too slim for cards but good enough to stuff folded up notes.
Finally DD has a bag to replace her usual for church. It's the middle one. The one on the right was supposed to be it but it was too small for her bible and other stuff. She brought it today and her friend asked her if I made it. Turns out, of all the times that someone asked her about the stuff that DD has, there's only one item that they asked her where she bought it. Most of the time they asked if I made it. I was joking with DD whether I should have a label 'My Mother Made This' or M3T.
I'm glad she used it today :-)

Mini messengers

Made 2 smaller messenger bags out of Korean import oxford cotton. This material is becoming my fabric of choice 'cos I like it's medium weight and smooth texture. There aren't as many prints for these as compared to quilting weight cotton though, and the Japanese version of oxford cotton costs double that of Korean. Whatever. It's the finished item that's important :-)

I made these without a pattern (only the triangular pencil case has a template) and they ended up about the same size though I made them separately and without comparison. That's what's fun about sewing :-) So, both have adjustable straps with metal slides, fully lined inside and pockets, interfaced, velcro to secure body, magnet to secure flap.

Sneaks: Crochet crossbody sling bag

I found the tonal pink one. Think I made it last year. Can't remember. There's also a tonal blue one somewhere. When I find it, I'll post it here. Made from pack of 12 colours of cotton yarn meant for a shawl. I don't use shawls so... :-)
Found this leather strap too. DD found it a bit narrow but I thought it's just nice for a sling. This strap came with 2 D-rings but I thought that since the hooks could hook into the many holes of a crochet item, it then makes the 'bases' changeable.
What do you  think?

Gingerbread, again!

This gingerbread fabric is the one that I've bought the most :-) I've used it for wristlets, notebook covers, tablecloths, totes and sling bags. Anyway, this sling bag is also another long overdue project.
There are 2 big pockets outside, 2 big pockets inside and 3 smaller ones and 2 pen slips. How's that for multiple pockets? Hope it's enough :-)
Secured by 2 magnets, one on the inside and one for the flap.
Have a blessed day!

Who stole the cookies from the cookie jar?

SOLD
DS and DD have sling bags that they carry around so often. Waterbottle, umbrella, book, NDSL etc. Theirs is quite spacious and uses canvas which can withstand the heavy load/usage. Made from oxford, this gingerbread sling bag is smaller ('cos it's for a younger girl) and is softer. The adjustable strap is narrower (1" vs 1.5") too. Comes fully lined and lightly interfaced with 2 internal pockets. Do you like this?
ps: don't mind the creases. I'll try to break this bad habit soon and iron first before taking pics. But I was in a hurry to share this with you :-)
