Suede straps

Made these suede straps on a whim. The suede was meant for braided cuffs but I took some and trimmed it and made into these straps. In the past, the detachable straps I've made were always from the same fabric as the main body. This suede strap is therefore a stark contrast. I like it anyway :-)
All have a swivel hook to attach to any pouch that has a D-ring.

Bluish green or greenish blue?

More wristlets for Tiffany's Shoppe.
I cut these out more than a month ago, maybe 2 months. They've been lying in the sewing basket for a while, waiting for the sewing bug to bite. They're from a series that I bought from US, made from super combed cotton that's grown in US. I added just a bit of batting to this so that the smoothness and the puffiness of the batting makes this a fine little pillow, LOL!

Lots more along the way and yes, I'll get back to orders soon. Sorry for the delay and thanks for your patience!

Get these and more at 25% off  at Tiffany's Shoppe tomorrow only. Ditto Tobias' Shoppe.

Have a blessed day!

I've been busy, how about you?

Yup, the camera's back in action. I wasn't lazing around either. Been working on these....
brightly-coloured wristlets. More in the pipeline!

Three clutches / laptop bags for the fun of it. I enjoyed the freehand quilted. Almost everything I do is freehand anyway, LOL, but it was fun trying to sew uniform lines. These have extra thick batting that I was quilting on. DD used a similar for school and her friends thought she brought a laptop to school. That was what gave me the idea. Well, whether you use it for books / files / laptop / tablet or even a pillow, I hope you like it.

Listed all of these in Tiffany's Shoppe.

Brights vs florals vs neutrals

I can't decide which type I like best, brights, florals or neutrals. There are also polka dots and cartoon/character designs and such. So many varieties out there, so tempting :-) Ditto that for purse hardware too. I'm using shiny silver and antique brass.

All of these are zipper pouches for hand-sewing to close the gap where I turn it proper way out after sewing. Won't say more....lots to sew today :-)

Have a blessed weekend!

WIPs

These are the WIPs that I'm packing for tomorrow afternoon to sew at the pool while I wait for DD as she goes for her swimming lesson. I might include some yoyos but these are reversible drawstring bags and wristlets. I'll have many brightly coloured wristlets coming up. I'm happy that I managed to find matching zips :-)  I also put my potpourri sachet in so the FOs will smell nicer.

Have a blessed weekend!

What's happening?

It's been quite eventful for us the past few weeks, with a few upheavals on the personal front along with health issues. DS, DD and myself had bouts of fever and pains. Those are my excuses for not churning out your orders timely. Thank you for your patience and support!

Seven

What's the significance of seven in the bible?

Extracted from http://www.biblestudy.org/ :
As a number the actual word and number "Seven" is used as no other number is. Seven and its compounds occur in multiples of seven in the Old Testament.
  • Seven occurs 287 times, or 7 x 41.
  • "Seventh," the fractional part, occurs 98 times, or 7 x 14.
  • "Seven-fold," occurs 7 times.
  • The above three numbers together are of course a multiple of seven, but a very remarkable one, 287 + 98 + 7 = 392, and 392 is 72 + 73, or 8 times the square of seven (72x8).
  • Then again seven, in combination with other numbers, is remarkable, such as Fifty and seven, a Hundred and seven, etc. There are 112 of these combinations, or 7 x 16.
  • "Seventy" occurs 56 times, or 7 x 8.
  • "Seventy," in combination with other numbers, occurs 35 times, or 7 x 5.
It is, however, when we come to consider its significance that the true glories of its spiritual perfection are revealed.
7 wristlets brings the total number of requested wristlets equal that of triangle-sided pencil cases which means these 2 now tie for top place of most requested items.
Thank you all for your support and have a blessed day!

Sowing the seeds of love

A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.
Where and what seeds are you sowing?

What is a pouch?

The Free Dictionary had this definition for 'pouch'
  1. A small bag often closing with a drawstring and used especially for carrying loose items in one's pocket.
  2. A bag or sack used to carry mail or diplomatic dispatches.
  3. A leather bag or case for carrying powder or small-arms ammunition.
  4. A sealed plastic or foil container used in packaging frozen or dehydrated food.
  5. Something resembling a bag in shape: one's pouches under one's eyes.
  6. Zoology A saclike structure, such as the cheek pockets of the gopher or the external abdominal pocket in which marsupials carry their young.
  7. Anatomy A pocketlike space in the body: the pharyngeal pouch.
  8. Scots A pocket.
  9. Archaic A purse for small coins.

What do you use a pouch for?
  • DS puts his handphone
  • DS also uses one as his pencil case. He prefers the flat zippered type with zip on the side. He has also requested for another using a fighter jet fabric. I'll put this up when it's ready.
  • DD puts her DS along with the earpieces but she's been asking me to make another one which has a separate compartment to put the earpieces
  • DD has a round one for her shuffle with the earpiece coming out from a small slot just where the zip ends. This is one of the few that I sew totally by hand.
  • I put my keys in one that's shaped like a quadrant. It has a key ring attached to a short internal strap that lets me swing the keys out when I need to use them or back in and zipped up when I don't. It also has a D-ring and strap so it's easy to carry when we go out for a bit. I prefer keys to be enclosed so that it doesn't snag on stuff in my bag.
  • I'm currently using a Noah Ark's wristlet with a centre divider that has 3 pockets for cards. Some of the stuff I put inside are: pen, stirrer (DS gave me), about 20 cards, cash, coins, receipts, vouchers etc. I can pack lots inside one wristlet :-)
  • I also use a strap as a keychain.
What do you use it for?

Sneak preview - straps

Leftmost and Rightmost - SOLD
Middle one - available
Went fabric shopping on Saturday and look what I found - Lecien dots. I can't decide if I prefer Lecien or Yuwa (that's the fabric in the middle), or plain 1mm dots (that's Korean imported fabric). I choose fabric if the print catches my eye but sometimes I buy simply 'cos the fabric feels so soothing to touch. But I digress.
These are 3 straps meant for wristlets. I decided to make the straps first before the zipper pouch for a change. Which do you prefer?
Have a blessed evening!

Thank you

There were times when I got orders wrong or mixed up or had to take it over and over again but there wasn't once when I had an unhappy customer who would reject what I had made. Thank you so much and God bless you!

Zippered pouch - SOLD
Can you tell the difference between the 2? One's a wristlet and the other's a vanilla zippered pouch with a name label. Timeless Treasures exterior and super combed interior from the Wrap it up! range.

Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah's Ark...

Lifted this from here.
One: Don't miss the boat.
Two: Remember that we are all in the same boat.
Three: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
Four: Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
Five: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
Six: Build your future on high ground.
Seven: For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
Eight: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
Nine: When you're stressed, float a while.
Ten: Remember, ! the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
Eleven: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting. .

Hey, that's mine!

SOLD
I do not have a sewing machine that can embroider letters but since I had a request to personalise these wristlets, I thought I'd have a go at hand-sewing them. The only other personalisation I've ever done was for DD and DS, of course. DD likes the one where I sewed a fairy along with her name on her pencil case while DS prefers his felt bubble letters (oops, I just remembered that these felt bubble letters were not hand-sewn but personlised, nonetheless).
But I digress. Pic shows 3 of 4 requested personlised wristlets. Hand-sewn on cotton tape then machine-sewn onto the wristlet. Perhaps one day I'll be more adventurous and add flowers/hearts and more colours? Maybe after the fabric teddies. What do you think?
