Not exactly the first one

It's kind of strange, actually, when I just realised that this is probably only the second wallet I've made. Odd. You'd have thought after more than two years of this blog and making all sorts of stuff that I'd have made some wallets? I can only recall one other at the moment, the red leaf linen one.
Oh well.
I think I'll make more of these. Rather challenging and lots of room for improvement though I like this one lots. It has 6 card slots on one side and a zippered compartment in the middle. One large slot on each side of the zipper and everything kept neat and tidy with this metal clasp. I don't know what sort of clasp this is. Pretty and functional.

Have a blessed evening!

ps: don't mind the shine. I can't seem to take nice pics at night but after struggling with this for so long and finally completing it, in between Spiral Knights sessions, LOL!

Light and airy

Silver and blue Byzantine bracelet with matching earrings. This time, I used aluminium. 14 gauge 10mm OD. They were a bit stiffer than I expected but still manageable. I wonder what stainless steel will be like.
The camera doesn't capture the brightness of the blue but I still like it. These are a bit chunkier than those I've made before but they're much lighter 'cos of the aluminium.

Have a blessed day!

Jump ring fatigue

My right hand hurts from gripping the chain nose pliers too tightly. I've switched to using the Beadsmith jump ring 'ring' so at least my left hand is recovering. :-) I'm still having lots of fun with chain maille.
These are 3 bracelets. Only the green one is done. The label on the wire was torn off but I suspect it's aluminum 'cos it's so light, compared to the Artistic Wire brass and gunmetal above. Two are similar in design with the 3-ring Mobius flowers, double connectors and heart lobster clasps. The middle one is a part Byzantine and part metal focal charms. While it looks like there's a big gap between the rings, it wasn't easy attaching the metal charms 'cos of the larger ring size. I like the result though. Now I'm deciding between buying a toggle or making a clasp out of the same brass wire. But for now, I rest.

Have a blessed day!

Bought more string!

And we made these...
DD made this. She wanted two different greens for contrast and simple straight lines (no spirals). She made most of it herself, cutting the lengths, affixing the flower charm and knotting/beading. I helped with holding the two ends while she made the adjustable bits and then I cauterized the ends.
I have two blues, maybe I'll try to make a blue version of this?

DD calls these DNA bracelets 'cos of the spirals. One of them is spiraling in a different direction from the other two. Can you tell which? I also used a different connector method, choosing metal findings instead. Clamped connectors with lobster hook and chain. The chain is so that bracelet's wearable on slim or larger wrists. DS likes the gun metal clasps. I think I'll make some more with those :-)

Have a blessed day!
