Sewing on a rainy day

T'was raining for about an hour this morning. I thought the dark clouds was due to the haze till it got darker and windier and it poured!
Made this quilted clutch/sling bag using two of the fat quarters I bought at Spotlight a couple of months ago. Didn't have this in mind when I bought the fabrics (few more that I've yet to get started on) but I think it turned out OK. Now I'll just have to wait for feedback from its owner.
Quilted body and flap with the new closure that I like so much. Panel of pockets inside with 2 pockets and 2 pen slips. Zippered pocket inside against the back with a heart zipper pull.

Have a blessed day!

Afternote: If you're wondering why there's no strap, that's 'cos it's sharing a strap with the earlier clutch/sling bag.

I've been busy, how about you?

Yup, the camera's back in action. I wasn't lazing around either. Been working on these....
brightly-coloured wristlets. More in the pipeline!

Three clutches / laptop bags for the fun of it. I enjoyed the freehand quilted. Almost everything I do is freehand anyway, LOL, but it was fun trying to sew uniform lines. These have extra thick batting that I was quilting on. DD used a similar for school and her friends thought she brought a laptop to school. That was what gave me the idea. Well, whether you use it for books / files / laptop / tablet or even a pillow, I hope you like it.

Listed all of these in Tiffany's Shoppe.

Just because

Made these 2 on a whim. No particular reason other than wanting to try machine-quilting diagonals instead of along the printed lines of each printed patch. I think diagonals look better, add more interest than plain 'ditch' sewing. What do you think? I also wanted to add labels and I found my old metal zips. These zips have detachable zipper pulls. I like the bronze / antique look of the zipper pulls. I added a heart to this one 'cos Valentine's day's coming. Maybe I'll attach a 3-dimensional bear for the next pouch?

Listed in Tiffany's Shoppe.
Have a blessed evening!

ps: look out for coming leap year sale at Tobias' Shoppe and Tiffany's Shoppe.

Phew...finally!

DD's half-done tote has been on my sewing table for months. She started out enthusiastically, planning and picking the fabrics, cutting them to size and sewing them together. She made the interior as well, with a fully lined pocket with 2 pen slips and a larger (huge!) one for things unknown.
DD has a green Daiso pouch that she puts her books and stuff in but I decided that I might as well take what she started and make it into something she would use. After all, it's been lying there for months.
This is an A4 size zipper pouch with pockets inside. I used 7oz interfacing so that there's lots of padding since she's gonna hug it. Used the last heart zip from Daiso. (Aside: wonder why Daiso doesn't sell these anymore :-( )
Have a blessed day!

Here doggy, doggy

What sort of pencil case do you use?
I've made flat zippered ones (ranging from 8" to 11" long), toblerone-type ones, lunchbag types, snap button types and the rollover/foldover types, even boxy ones and a cylinder. Some have a few compartments, some have many zips. Some are plain while others have lace or embroidery. There are so many variables.
This is a flat zippered one made from doggy print oxford paired with linen. Fully lined with calico and interfaced with thin batting. Heart zip for closure. Added a patch pocket.
